POLICE have uncovered a cannibas farm with a large number of plants in an east Durham village. 

A Durham Police spokesperson said: "Following intel from community sources and with the assistance of NPAS, the Police helicopter, officers gained entry to an address in Twelfth Street, Horden.

"A large number of mature cannabis plants were present in the premises which were seized by officers along with a quantity of equipment which will be destroyed.

"If members of the public have any information with they believe may assist officers in the identification of further cannabis farms, this can be passed anonymously via the Crimestoppers helpline on 0800 555 111."
