A MAN from County Durham has been fined for speeding in excess of 30 miles per hour past the limit and for failing to give information to police.

Mr John Hodgson, of Bishop Auckland, drove a Vauxhall on the A68 at High Etherley in County Durham on October 2, 2021.

The 49-year-old also failed to five information relating to the identification of the driver of the vehicle when required.

On November 9 2021, Hodgson was required by a Chief Officer of Durham Constabulary to give information relating to the identification of the driver, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

He appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday, May 4) and was fined £660.

Hodgson also will have to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £66, another fine of £90. The total of £816 must be paid by June 1

His driving record has also been endorsed with six points.
