OFFICERS from Cleveland Police are appealing for witnesses to an alleged incident in a Yarm restaurant at the weekend (Sunday May 1).

A number of people were allegedly assaulted by a man at around 11pm on Sunday night while they were on the dance area of Tomahawk Steakhouse.

A 25-year-old man reported that at 11.50pm he was assaulted by the same man.

He received hospital treatment and was discharged today (Tuesday May 3).

A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the alleged incidents and he has been interviewed by detectives from Stockton CID and released on bail while inquiries continue.

Cleveland Police is appealing for anyone who was present at the time to come forward. Please contact police on the 101-number quoting ref SE22073011.
