A MISSING 62-year-old man from Thirsk has been found safe and well, police have confirmed today (Saturday, April 30).

Officers issued an urgent appeal to find the vulnerable man who hadn't been seen since he left the Red Bear pub in Thirsk Market Place at around 6.13pm on Wednesday.

Specialist officers were searching for him and North Yorkshire Police say he has been found.

A police spokesman said: "Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal for the missing 62-year-old man from Thirsk.

"We can now confirm he has been found safe and well.

"Officers have thanked everyone, including the media, for sharing the appeal and assisting in the search – helping us in this way really does make a big difference."
