A MAN has been left with a slashed face and fractured eye socket following an attack in the early hours in Northallerton.

The assault took place around 3.15am on Sunday, April 17 on Elder Road in Northallerton.

The victim, a 20-year-old man from the local area, was left with lacerations to his face and a fractured eye socket.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on conditional bail.

Detectives in Northallerton Criminal Investigation Department are appealing for any witnesses to the serious assault to come forward so they can establish the full circumstances around the incident.

They would also like to hear from anyone who may have capture dash cam, CCTV or doorbell footage of the incident.
