NORTH East community groups have been invited to take up the offer of free tickets to the Platinum Jubilee performance of Kynren, in Bishop Auckland.

The 1,000 tickets are being given away by 11Arches on behalf of every member of Kynren’s 1,000-strong cast and crew, with the first 400 set aside for the three local Emergency Services (police, fire and ambulance) and the NHS to salute their "heroic efforts" during the pandemic.

The remaining 600 tickets will be made available to local community groups and good causes - and the registered charity is calling on people to get in touch to apply for places.

The Northern Echo:

The multi-award-winning show "delights and dazzles the senses, as the past 2,000 years are brought to vivid life on an enormous scale".

From the fog of war and the noise of battle to the heat of industry; from Romans to Victorians and the lavish pomp and pageantry of royal ceremony, to thrilling choreography, amazing stunts, equestrianism, water jets, special effects and pyrotechnics – Kynren is a truly breath-taking experience.

There is a total of 29 dramatic scenes as Kynren takes audiences on an action-packed, emotional journey through time. Each one is enhanced by an original soundtrack from award-winning composer Nathan Stornetta.

The Northern Echo:

Gates open at 6.45pm ahead of the live show at 9.15pm allowing visitors the opportunity to arrive early for food and drink in one of the dining areas.
