A DARLINGTON woman and her two daughters have transformed their looks, all for a good cause.

Caroline Douglas and her two daughters Evie, 10, and Ella, 12, have all had approximately 10 inches off their Rapunzel locks on Monday (April 11) and are donating their hair to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs for young people who have experiences hair loss due to cancer treatment.

The family has done this on and off over the last few years and it’s Caroline’s hope that by raising awareness of this charity, more people will follow suit.

Caroline, Ella and Evie all went to Bowe Organics Hair Salon in Darlington to for the chop.

Caroline said: “We just thought it would be a nice thing to do. We’ve done it before but never all three of us at the same time and as we’ve all got really long hair, it seemed like a good thing to do.

“Hair usually ends up in the bin after being cut so I thought we may as well do something with it and it’s (The Little Princess Trust) a really good charity.”

Wendy Tarplee-Morris, founder of The Little Princess Trust, said: “We are so grateful to Caroline, Ella and Evie for their fantastic continued support of our charity.

“It is lovely to know that they all thought of us and the children with hair loss that we support.

“Their wonderful hair donations will be a huge help for our free wig provision service which, we know, makes such a big difference to the confidence and identity of young people at what can be a very difficult time in their lives.”

It costs around £300 for The Little Princess Trust to make a wig out of human hair and for that reason, Caroline has created a fundraising page on Facebook to raise as much as she can for the charity.
