A SECTION of the A1(M) is closed in North Yorkshire after a crash on Thursday evening. 

There is currently queuing traffic on the A1(M) Southbound from Junction 53 A66 at Scotch Corner to Junction 52 A6055 at Catterick due to the collision. 

Three vehicle were reportedly involved after one is reported to have hit the central reservation. 

The incident happened at around 5.15pm. Trapped traffic is being turned around.

The road remains closed whist Police collision investigation works are ongoing.
