STAFF and students at a Dales secondary school is preparing to put on its first musical production in more than five years.

Wensleydale School and Sixth Form College will perform ‘High School Musical on Stage’ on April 6, 7 and 8.

Teacher Joshua Hadfield said: “Over the last two terms, our students have worked tirelessly to stage an exhilarating production of ‘High School Musical on Stage’.

“Students from all year groups have come together doing something they love and we are incredibly proud of the hard work and commitment our students have shown.”

Disney’s ‘High School Musical on Stage’ centres on the blossoming relationship between Troy, a high school jock, and Gabriella, the new smart girl at school. They meet on a family vacation and become attracted to each other while singing in a karaoke competition. Rediscovering each other at school, their relationship and their surprise decision to audition together for the school show are thwarted by the school’s current leading lady, Sharpay, and Troy and Gabriella’s well-meaning friends.

Mr Hadfield added: “We are all looking forward to showcasing the talent and skill of the students of Wensleydale School and Sixth Form. “We hope each evening will be a celebration of what they have achieved this year.”
