What forecasters have said

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Dense fog patches have formed overnight with visibility less than 100m expected in places at first on Wednesday morning. The fog is expected to clear by mid-morning."

It comes as today, temperatures right across the patch are expected to hit as high as 19c as many are braced for a 'mini-heawave.'

Met Office spokesman Richard Miles said “lots of places” will see temperatures in the high teens today.

He said that while these temperatures are above average, they are not that unusual for this time of year.
