A DARLINGTON artist who specialises in football commissions has helped to raise £16,000 for the charity of an Arsenal legend.

Terry Kneeshaw was commissioned by Bob Wilson's Willow Foundation to create an original painting to be auctioned at the London Football Awards. 

His acrylic on canvas features 25  legends from Arsenal FC - including Bob Wilson himself - as voted for by Arsenal fans.

Mr Kneeshaw, who has previously created all sorts of football prints, including during last year’s Euros, is best known for his sports and pop culture pieces, and the time lapse videos of his paintings have been watched and shared by millions of football fans around the globe.

The Willow Foundation was founded by the former Arsenal goalkeeper and TV presented and his wife Megs as a memorial to their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer aged 31.

It is the only national charity working with seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40 to fulfil uplifting and unforgettable special days and since 1999 has provided more than 17,000 events for people with life-threatening conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and Huntington’s disease.

Terry has also created special prints of the piece, which are available to purchase from his website www.terrykneeshaw.com,  with £5 from each sale donated to the charity
