THE discovery of a body of a man found at a bandstand in a seaside town is not being treated as suspicious.

Police were called to Saltburn on Sunday (March 6).

Officers attended the bandstand above Saltburn Valley Gardens just before 7.40am.

A man was confirmed as dead.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and a file has been passed to the coroner.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "Police were called to the bandstand above Saltburn Valley Gardens just before 7.40am yesterday (Sunday).

"Very sadly, a man was confirmed deceased there and his next of kin was informed.

"There are not currently thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death and a file will be passed to the coroner.

"Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this very difficult time."
