THE five people involved in the death and disappearance of a Polish father-of-one will have to wait a month to learn their fate.

Rafal Chmielewski and Zbigniew Pawlowski admitted their role in the killing in a dramatic twist seven weeks into a murder trial at Teesside Crown Court.

Tomasz Dembler made a ‘sexual slur’ towards Pawlowski in March last year after the met in a house in Middlesbrough and paid for it with his life.

Three other co-accused - Monika Solerska; Tomasz Reczycki; and Adam Czerwinski, all pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice by helping to dispose of the 39-year-old's body.

Within days of moving into a house on Edward Street, North Ormesby, the father-of-one suffered fatal injuries after he was savagely beaten in the early hours of March 21 last year.

Teesside Crown Court heard how all five conspired together to come up with a plan to dispose of Mr Dembler's mutilated body.

Jurors heard how Mr Dembler’s hands were cut-off following his death and they were then dumped in a bin near where his body was dumped in a shallow grave, in woodland near Flatts Lane Country Park.

Throughout the seven-week trial, jurors heard how Mr Dembler suffered horrendous injuries when he was kicked, punched, and stamped on during a sustained brutal attack.

The court heard how a few days before the killing, Pawlowski had become enraged when Mr Dembler made a joke about him having sexual contact with men.

The defendants were due to be sentenced this morning (Friday, March 4) but the case was adjourned to allow time for pre-sentence reports to be compiled on Chmielewski and Pawlowski.

Pawlowski, of Leven Street, Newport, Middlesbrough; Rafal Chmielewski, 37, of Birchington Avenue, Grangetown; Tomasz Reczycki, 37, of Ashfield Avenue, Grove Hill, Middlesbrough; Monika Solerska, 37, of Birchington Avenue, Grangetown; and Adam Czerwinski, 45, of Edward Street, North Ormesby, had all denied murder.

All five will now be sentenced on April 8.
