AN artisan market is launching in Darlington this weekend.

The first Little Bird Made market, which runs events across North Yorkshire, including Richmond, will take place in Darlington on Sunday.

The market is aimed at showcasing the area’s best producers and will feature food, drink and crafts.

Jackie Crozier, who founded Little Bird Made in 2018, said, “I’m delighted to be bringing my markets to Darlington. As a child I used to go shopping to the town with my mum and dad and have fond memories of these visits.

“It’s such a beautiful town and I’m so pleased to be bringing all our amazing traders to the people in the area”.

Little Bird also has markets in Harrogate, Ripon, Tadcaster, Easingwold, Doncaster, Wetherby, Knaresborough, Boroughbridge, Richmond and Pateley Bridge.

A spokesperson for Marketing Asset Management, which runs Darlington Market, said: “Darlington Markets is pleased to welcome the Little Bird Market to our calendar of events.

“Showcasing handmade goods from talented artisans, the Little Bird Market will be trading in Darlington on Sunday 27th February and every last Sunday of the month in 2022.

“At Darlington Markets we are all about celebrating and championing local businesses and are excited to see the Little Bird Market joining the independent traders who call Darlington Market home.”

The event in the Horse Market on Sunday will run between 10am and 3pm.

It will take place on the last Sunday of the month throughout the rest of the year.
