A FIRE which completely destroyed a caravan spread to a nearby flat, damaging the outside of the building.

Emergency services were called to a property on Rectory Lane, Guisborough, last night to deal with a caravan fire.

Cleveland Fire Brigade sent two appliances, from Guisborough and Skelton stations, to the scene at about 9.30pm and firefighters used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.

They remained at the scene until just before midnight.

A spokesperson for the fire brigade said the caravan was 100 per cent destroyed by fire and 40 per cent of fire damage was caused to the facia and guttering of an adjacent flat.
