A COUNTY Durham 21-year-old has been jailed for 12 weeks after he stole £340 of meat from Asda and ignoring a court order.

Kielan Tallentire, of Middlestone Moor, Spennymoor, appeared before magistrates court on Friday January 28.

Tallentire faced the court after stealing £223 worth of meat from Asda in Spennymoor and on another occasion, £117 from the same store.

The defendant was also charged with interfering with a vehicle, and remaining at large after a recall to prison.

Tallentire was sent to prison for 12 weeks and was also made to pay £128 in court costs.

Tallentire pleaded guilty to all charges.
