He said: “It has been a privilege to work at Aldi for 25 years. I’ve loved working here and want to thank my amazing colleagues who make it such a great place to come to work every day.”

When asked about his favourite products at Aldi, he said: “It changes constantly, but my absolute favorite has to be the dark chocolate digestives!

"I also love the mince pies at Christmas - but as they only come out once a year, I have to make the most of them!“

Prior to his current role, he spent 18 years as a store manager, working at several local stores over the years including the Howdon, Hexham and Cramlington stores.

The Northern Echo:

During his time at the firm, Mr Davis has gone above and beyond his typical duties by taking part in a range of fundraising activities, including walking Hadrian’s wall, climbing the three peaks, and taking part in the ‘Coast to Coast’ challenge – all to help raise money for Aldi’s dedicated charity, Teenage Cancer Trust.

Sandy Mitchell, regional managing director at Aldi UK said: “Without the hard work and dedication of our colleagues, we wouldn’t be able to provide customers with the excellent and efficient service we’ve become known for.

“Colleagues like Tim are the cornerstone of our business and I thank him for his continued dedication throughout the last 25 years.”
