THESE are the jobs that are up for grabs at Amazon sites across the North East - with some paying more than £20 an hour for overtime.

Several roles across different areas are available in Darlington, Durham and Gateshead as the retailer marks almost two year in the region.

From Fulfilment Associates to Loss Prevention Specialists, a number of jobs are being advertised by the retailer with some not requiring any experience.

It comes as The Northern Echo recently revealed the online retailer was opening a fourth warehouse in the region with a further 1,300 jobs created.

The new 'Fulfilment Centre' is taking shape near the A19 in Wynyard, near Stockton, and is expected to open later this year.

But what are the jobs up for grabs? We've looked through the retailer's latest vacancies to bring you just some of the key roles available across the region.

Warehouse Operatives

The retailer is advertising for warehouse operatives to work at its Durham 'MME2' warehouse in Bowburn.

With pay starting at around £10 an hour and rising to £21.71 an hour for certain overtime shifts, the role doesn't require experience.

Senior RME Technician

The retailer is advertising for a 'Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician' also in Durham who is responsible for the maintenance of technology within the site.

The rate of pay is not disclosed, but suggests that the role will include a non-traditional shift pattern and involve coaching and mentoring.

Loss Prevention Coordinator

Based in Darlington, the retailer says it is looking for someone who can help and detect against losses to the business.

This role requires experience on investigative or loss prevention, preferably in a retail, ecommerce, warehouse or manufacturing industry.

Loss Prevention Specialist

Based in Gateshead, the retailer says it is looking for someone who can handle investigations on theft and loss from the site.

This role will also see the candidate manage, coordinate and implement all aspects of its loss prevention strategy.

Assistant to General Manager

A unique role, Amazon says whoever gets the job as assistant to general manager, they will be working at the site in Gateshead.

The description states they will be required to coordinate events across the site, managing the associated budget and assist with the direction of the leadership team.

IT Support Engineer

The online retailer says it has an "immediate" opening for an IT Engineer in its Bowburn Fulfilment Centre.

The job includes building and operating "infrastructure environments" and requires experience in IT.

'There's a lot of talent'

Richard Thompson, General Manager of Amazon Gateshead, previously said that the retailer is "super keen" to open the new sites as there is a lot of talent in the region.

He said: “In the North East, we’ve offered more than 4,000 permanent roles and more than 3,000 seasonal roles.

"We’ve got to remember there’s jobs across the business people who pick and pack our customer orders, we’ve got jobs in HR, safety, engineering, IT and health and safety.

"We continue to expand as a business and I think we recognise there’s a lot of talent within the local area, and the North East and we've been super keen to open these buildings and continue to employ local talent."
