FAILING to tidy up a yard full of rubbish has cost a Spennymoor man more than £1,000 in court.
Jordan Kirk-Patrick was given a community protection notice last April stating that he must clear up the accumulation of waste in the shed and rear yard of his Baff Street home.

But on Tuesday this week, magistrates sitting at Peterlee concluded that he had failed to comply with the order to clean up the area.
The case was proved in Kirk-Patrick's absence and magistrates fined him £660.
They also imposed a £66 surcharge, plus £330 in court charges, meaning he has to pay a total of £1,056 by February 15 this year.
