A BURGLAR broke into the courtyard of a property near Bishop Auckland and stole a number of outdoor tools.

Police investigating the burglary are now appealing for information.

The incident occurred sometime between 9pm on Tuesday, January 11 and 8am on Wednesday, January 12.

It is believed the suspect broke into the courtyard of the property on Etherley Bank and removed a number of outdoor tools.

Officers are now keen to speak to anyone who was in the area between these times and any neighbours who may hold CCTV footage of the incident.
