ACROSS the North-East and North Yorkshire, our loyal health and care professionals have been called upon like never before.

Yet they have risen to the challenges presented by the global pandemic. Overcoming adversity, showing tremendous strength, courage, compassion and tenacity, to serve their local communities, continuing to put others first.

Here at The Northern Echo, we want to share their stories and create a permanent record of their incredible achievements, so we have launched our Health and Care Awards 2022.

Awards will be virtually online on Thursday, April 28, and the closing date for nominations is Friday, February 18.

Attendance to the event will be unlimited and allow access not just for sponsors of the individual awards and nominated individuals, but also their family and friends.

The evening will also bring lots of opportunities to show your support with a live chat feed and a live social wall.

The Northern Echo’s sales director Ryan Fenwick, said: “We really do hope you join us by supporting the event as a sponsor and playing your part in celebrating some of the fantastic achievements from our incredible health and care professionals.”

The categories are: Health Care Team Award, Care Hero Award, Care Home Worker of the Year, Care Training Award, Health Care Employer Award, Domiciliary Care Worker of the Year Award, Nurse of the Year, Young Adult and Child Care Award, Midwife of the Year, The Dementia Carer of the Year Award, The Palliative Carer of the Year Award, The Mental Health Award, GP Practice of the Year Award and Outstanding Achievement.

Karl Holbrook, Editor of The Northern Echo, said: “This is a chance to acknowledge and celebrate some amazing people in our health and care sector.”
