POLICE officers investigating a report of a sexual assault in Newcastle last year have released the image of a male they would like to speak to.

On Saturday, September 25, at around 1.25am, it was reported that a woman had been in the smoking area of Livello in Newcastle, when she was approached by an unknown male who has then grabbed her in a sexual manner without her consent.

The 23-year-old victim was left distressed by the incident and reported it to Northumbria Police.

After the incident, an investigation was initially launched in September, and a number of enquiries have been ongoing, including a review of CCTV.

This includes the police force today (Wednesday, January 12) releasing the image of a male they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

He was in the area at the time, and it’s believed he may have information which can assist.

The male, anyone who knows him, or who thinks they have information is asked to contact police by using the ‘Tell us Something page’ on the Northumbria Police website, quoting crime reference 106637K/21.
