LAST night Teesside International Airport aircraft from the United States Airforce stopped by to refuel.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen posted on Facebook: "Fantastic that our airport was able to help out the United States Air Force with some fuelling earlier tonight.
"This goes to show just how important our airport is! #specialrelationship"
Teesside Airport Movements said the USAFE Hercules/Ospreys were in for fuel, involving KC-135s and Ospreys from Mildenhall and Hercules which have been temporary deployed to Fairford.

On their website they said: "It started last night and ends on 13th. Newcastle had two Hercules and two Ospreys last night, Spadeadam and air refuelling areas off our coast and over the Isle of Man were active till late in the evening.
"Tonight the aircraft are using Alston as a landing Zone. Asher 45 used the tanker before coming to us the 135 has now left the area for mildenhall (1930)."
