A MAN has been taken to hospital after a suspected stabbing today (Tuesday).

A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries after police suspect he was stabbed at around 1.55pm today.

A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

The incident happened on Oxbridge Lane in Stockton.

Emergency services including the ambulance service and Crime Scene Investigation remain at the scene.

A spokesperson from the police said: "Police received a report this afternoon, Tuesday 11th January at around 1.55pm from ambulance colleagues of a 37-year-old male with injuries believed to be from a stabbing, on Oxbridge Lane in Stockton.

"The man was taken to hospital by ambulance. Officers attended and have arrested a 46-year-old man at the scene.

"He has been taken into custody and will be interviewed in due course. Emergency services remain at the scene.

"Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Stockton CID on 101, reference 005624."

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 1.51pm this afternoon to reports of an injured male on Oxbridge Lane, Stockton on Tees. We dispatched two ambulance crews, and one patient was taken to hospital for further treatment."
