POLICE are trying to trace two people following an assault on New Year's Day.
The incident happened in Darlington between 1am and 2am on Saturday, January 1.
Officers investigating the assault, which happened outside Frank's The Flooring Store in Russell Street, are appealing for assistance from members of the public.
A man in his 20s suffered a broken cheekbone in the assault.

They have released descriptions of two people they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
The first suspect is described as being around 5ft5 wearing a dark green coat with a fur hood.
The second suspect is described as being around 5ft9 wearing a black thin puffer style coat.
Both suspects are believed to be in their late 20s.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "Officers are now keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Yorke on 101 then extension 209114 quoting reference CRI00376452."
