A POPULAR County Durham pub has announced its closure – and people have taken to Facebook to say just how sad they are at the news.

The Huntsman in Woodham, near Newton Aycliffe, confirmed it was shutting “with immediate effect” with a post on Facebook last night.

The managers of the pub-restaurant, on St Elizabeth’s Way, wrote: “Hi everyone, “Unfortunately, we have taken the difficult decision to close The Huntsman with immediate effect.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers and staff for their support over the last 3.5 years.”
