A NORTH Yorkshire partnership project has warned of the devastating increase in fuel poverty across North Yorkshire.

Warm and Well in North Yorkshire, which is run by Citizens Advice Mid North Yorkshire and funded by North Yorkshire County Council, campaigns for warm and dry homes across the region.

The company has seen a huge increase in people needing emergency support with energy bills and seeking advice about what to do after their supplier has gone bust.

Warm and Well say this is a direct result of rising energy prices and cost of living across the UK, which is likely to get worse with the average family to be £1,700 worse off in 2022.

Julia Priestnall, Warm and Well in North Yorkshire coordinator said she is urging families who are worried to get in touch as soon as possible.
