The bag was taken from the M&S at the Arnison Centre, on the outskirts of Durham, on September 25.

A Durham Police spokesperson said the bag was worth more than £500 and was of "significant sentimental value" to the victim.

Anyone who recognises the woman is asked to email PC John Lamb on John. Lamb@durham.police.uk.

Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can pass information on to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
