POLICE are appealing for information and footage after a pedestrian was hit by a HGV horsebox in Tow Law on Sunday afternoon (November 21).

It happened at around 2.45pm on the A68 at Tow Law and involved a HGV horsebox which was driving in the direction of High Stoop and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary hospital in Newcastle with head injuries.

Officers are now keen to obtain dashcam footage of the incident and are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a small white van which stopped at the scene to help.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact PC Clarke, from the Road Policing Unit on 101 then extension 202961 or email Max. Clarke@durham.police.uk quoting incident number 248 of November 21.
