A MAN has been arrested in connection with an incident at a restaurant last week that left customers terrified.
Masked raiders pulled up in a car and smashed the windows of the busy Santinni restaurant, in Shildon, with a baseball bat and an axe.
The incident occurred last week, on Wednesday, November 17 around 5.45pm at the premises on Main Street.
Customers were still sitting inside at the time of the attack leaving many terrified.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and affray and has since been released under investigation.
Further enquiries are ongoing.
