TWO highly experienced insurance experts have joined Attis Insurance to lead its Tees Valley office.

New Directors Emma Simkins and Jonathan Willett, who between them have more than 50 years working in the insurance sector, bring the team to 15, representing major growth, in a short period of time. The firm, which had three staff in May 2021, is targeting similar expansion over the next two years.

Emma and Jonathan both worked for a number of years at Willett and Ross, a well-known Teesside insurance brokers, which was founded by their father.

Based in the vibrant Port of Middlesbrough, in the heart of the Freeport area, Attis Insurance, which also has offices in Lincolnshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire, will work with commercial clients across most business sectors.

A FAMILIAR face within the construction industry has joined chartered accountants and business advisers Waltons Clark Whitehill.

Having been with Gus Robinson Developments for the past 39 years, latterly in the role of finance director, Jeanette Henderson has joined the Hartlepool Marina-based team.

After hearing about the finance manager position with Waltons, Jeanette decided to rethink her decision of early retirement.

“After spending so long with my previous employer, it could have been daunting to join a new place of work, but it hasn’t been,” said Jeanette.

“I came here to be part of a team I already had a strong relationship with, a firm whose values reflect those which I have been accustomed to for almost 40 years.”

INDEPENDENT technology consultancy Opencast has strengthened its senior leadership team with two board-level appointments, as it ramps up its ambitious expansion plans.

To build senior capacity for the growing demand for its services, and respond to the needs of its own people, Newcastle-headquartered Opencast has appointed a new chief technology officer in Lee Foster, and a new chief people officer in Cate Kalson.

Lee joins the business from enterprise software giant Sage, where he worked for more than nine years including as global director for enterprise and solution architecture. Cate joins from global business consultancy Oliver Wyman, where she was a director working in quantitative analytics.

SHIP repair and shipbuilding specialist A&P Group has announced the appointment of its new group managing director.

Eddie Purves, formally of BAE Systems, takes the lead of A&P’s three facilities, following more than 36 years at BAE Systems.

He will now draw upon his extensive expertise to lead A&P Group’s three facilities in Tyne, Tees and Falmouth, which includes Falmouth Docks and Engineering Company.

FLEXITALLIC UK, the international market leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of sealing solutions, has appointed Debbie Jackson as Key Account Manager.

Debbie, who has more than 18 years’ experience working within the sealing product sector, will be based at Flexitallic’s office in Middlesbrough, she will also look to identify and develop new business opportunities in an area stretching from Teesside up to the Scottish Borders.

She previously worked as a branch manager, having built up an extensive knowledge of sales management within the mechanical and industrial engineering sector.
