POLICE have seized a number of cannabis plants worth thousands after a property search in a North East town.

Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Team officers seized 70 cannabis plants after concerns were raised.

The plants, believed to be worth around an estimated £70,000 were located at an address on Caxton Street in the Park Ward today, Monday, November 22.

Officers have now seized the plants and enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.

Anyone who has information regarding drugs activity in their local is urged to contact Cleveland Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
