WITH Durham Lumiere 2021 kicking off later today, thousands of people are expected to line the streets of the historic city to see spectacular light shows and never seen before exhibits.

This year, the event will feature 37 installations, some of which will be interactive, as well as showcasing elements outside the City of Durham for the first time ever.

As the excitement builds for Lumiere, we have compiled a list of businesses that have announced that they’ll be staying open a little later than usual to serve the visitors of the event from Thursday to Sunday.

Here are just some of the businesses that will be pushing back their opening hours:

Bells Fish and Chips

The fish and chip restaurant will be on hand to serve the crowds from its Durham Market Place store on 11 Market Place (DH1 3NE) every day of the festival from 11am until 11pm for takeaway, and 11.15am until 10.30pm in the restaurant. Throughout the festival, Belles is unable to take any table bookings or pre-orders to give everyone a chance to get their fish and chips.
