A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of administering a substance with intent to commit a sexual assault following an incident at a Teesside nightclub.

A report was made at about 2am on Monday about concerns of the behaviour of  a man inside Flares nightclub in Middlesbrough.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said a third party had reported the incident and officers had arrested a 41-year-old man.

A quantity of class B drugs was recovered.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs and on suspicion of administering a noxious substance with intent to commit a sexual offence.

He remains in police custody and enquiries are ongoing.
