NORTH Yorkshire police are appealing for witnesses after jewellery, handbags and electronic equipment were stolen from a house when burglars forced their way inside.

Police say the incident happened on Dikes Lane in Great Ayton between the morning of Sunday November 7 and the morning of November 8.

The suspects forced their way inside a house and stole several high value items as a result.

Officers are asking for the publics assistance and to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

They are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious vehicles or people in the area around the time of the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
