A MAN in his sixties has died following a collision earlier this month.

Trevor Knowles, from Great Ayton, died in hospital on Monday following a collision on the A177 near Thorpe Thewles on October 6.

The 62-year-old was involved in a three-vehicle collision.

It happened at about 2.45pm and involved a Skoda Fabia, Vauxhall Astra and Ford Transit van.

Mr Knowles, who was driving the Skoda, was taken to hospital where he unfortunately later passed away.

He leaves behind a wife and children.

The Vauxhall driver was also seriously injured but has now been released from hospital following treatment.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen the collision or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the incident to contact Sergeant Mick Parish from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on 101, quoting incident number 169418.
