A DIRECTOR has bid farewell to the characters that launched his horror film career.

Yesterday, Friday, October 22, Willington film Director Dean Midas unleashed The Rag Dolly and Eve Valentine for the last time in Dolly v Eve: Homecoming.

Over the past two years the characters have been watched around the world, won awards and even have their own memorabilia.

The first film, The Rag Dolly Returns was released at Halloween in 2019, Valentine's Eve was released in February 2020.

Three more films followed and the film festival selections started to grow and grow, as did the character's popularity.

Mr Maynard said: "During the pandemic the characters, along with my fantastic family, kept me going, but with every start to a story, there must also be an end.

"Both characters have completely taken over my life and I will really miss them."

Mr Maynard admitted he was 'emotional' to say goodbye to the characters.

The Rag Dolly is played by Faye Ormston, Eve Valentine is played by Sam Lavery.
