Police are appealing for information after an alleged assault in which a man received a black eye.

The alleged assault at around 9.20pm on Saturday, September 25, was reported to have begun in Macy Brown’s bar on Yarm High Street. 

It then spilt out onto the street outside Macy Brown’s and Tomahawk Steakhouse.

A 24-year-old man reported he was assaulted by a man and a woman, sustaining bruising and swelling to his head, a black eye, a split lip and bruising to his back.

A 23-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were arrested in connection with the alleged incident and both were interviewed and released on conditional bail while inquiries continue.

Officers have spoken with several witnesses, but we would urge anyone else who was there or who has information which could help to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number quoting Ref 163191.
