A LARGE array of weapons and a quantity of suspected drugs were seized from a house on Teesside.

Officers from Stockton attended the property, acting on information supplied from the UK Border Agency. 

The raid happened yesterday at a house in Norton.

Following a search of the address a small amount of suspected Class B drugs, a quantity of suspected Class C drugs and a large amount of suspected controlled drugs were seized, along with an array of weapons.

One man was arrested on suspicion of importation of controlled drugs, suspicion of drug possession offences and suspicion of offences involving offensive weapons.

The man remains in police custody and faces questioning.

Sergeant Chris Stonehouse said: “Seizing these suspected drugs and weapons is part of our effort to make the streets of Cleveland a safer place. These dangerous weapons could potentially have caused a lot of harm in our local community.

“Where we have information regarding drug activity and crime we will always work to tackle this.
