A DEDICATED charity worker has been invited to a prestigious Macmillan event.

Macmillan Cancer Support will hold its Professionals Conference and Excellence Awards 2021 in November and amongst the guests will be Paula Spark.

She is a cancer support worker from the Macmillan Joining the Dots service, in south Durham, which is delivered by a partnership of Newton Aycliffe-based charity, the Pioneering Care Partnership and County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.

She said: “I am so thrilled to be given the opportunity to connect with other professionals from across the UK to share ideas and learn about future Macmillan Cancer Support.

“The two-day event features specialist workshops such as the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on bereavement care. Further sessions will show exciting developments in oncology in the last 24 months including a look at new drugs, treatments and technologies."

The event is the first to be held in person since the start of the pandemic and will offer a new insight into future cancer care.
