ENQUIRIES are ongoing after dead birds were thrown from a van in a back lane in Darlington.
It happened last night in the Denes area.
A woman reported seeing the animals being dumped in the back lane near Pendower Street.

Darlington Borough Council confirmed it had removed four dead pheasants from the area after it was reported last night.
The authority is now investigating the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the local authority.
A Darlington Borough Council spokesman said: “It was reported to us that four dead pheasants were thrown from a van. These have now been removed and we are investigating.”
