Sadly the pedestrian sustained serious head injuries in the collision and has since died in hospital.

Officers from the Major Collision Investigation Team are renewing their appeal for any witnesses, CCTV or dashcam footage.

They would be particularly interested to speak to anyone who was walking or travelling in the area who may have seen a pedestrian on Wigginton Road, the B1363, prior to the incident.

Anyone who can help the police investigation should call 101, select option 2 and ask to speak to Traffic Sergeant Mark Patterson or Detective Constable Sarah Burton. Or email Mark.Patterson@northyorkshire.police.uk
