POLICE searching for missing man Sean Murphy have found a body.
The 54-year-old, from the Saltburn area, had last been seen on Saturday and nobody heard from him since then.
On Sunday morning, with concerns about his welfare, police issued a public appeal for help to trace him.
Last night they confirmed that a man's body had been found and whilst it had not been formally identified, Mr Murphy's family was informed of the development.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "Police searching for missing 54-year-old Sean Murphy from the Saltburn area have sadly found the body of a man.
"Whilst formal identification has not yet taken place, Mr Murphy’s family have been informed and our thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Coroner."
