A TOWN will hold a free fireworks display on Bonfire Night – but people must live in the area to attend.

Great Aycliffe Town Council’s annual fireworks display takes place on Friday, November 5 at the Oak Leaf Sports Complex.

There will be a children's fairground from 5.30pm and food stalls, the beacon will be lit at 7pm and the bonfire display will start at 7.15pm.

Those wishing to attend must apply for a wristband.

To be eligible you must reside in the Parish of Great Aycliffe and supply proof of your address with a recent utility bill or driving licence.

Limited wristbands will be available and one person may apply for their family's wristbands.

They will be available at the Oak Leaf Sports Complex from Wednesday, October 20, 1pm to 7pm, every day until gone.
