POLICE are appealing for information after a man was allegedly assaulted in Teesside.

A 34-year-old was allegedly assaulted near Macy Brown’s on Yarm High Street between around 10pm and 10.15pm on Saturday night (October 2).

Police said they know there were a large number of people in the area, some of whom may have filmed it on their phones.

There were also several taxis parked nearby which may have dash cam footage and police are asking drivers to contact them to help with on-going inquiries.

The 35-year-old man attended hospital for treatment of facial injuries and an injury to his back, which are not believed to be life threatening.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding and on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug and three men, aged 22, 30 and 39 were arrested on suspicion of affray.

All four were interviewed and released on conditional bail while inquiries continue|.
