A MAN is being wanted by the police after he assaulted a teenager, unprovoked, while he sat with his friends after playing football.

North Yorkshire police say the incident happened at around 4pm on Wednesday August 18 and they would like to speak to the man pictured in the image.

Police say the incident saw the man assault a teenager in an unprovoked attack as the victim sat with his two friends after playing football on the Flatts.

The man has been described as white, 5 foot 10 inches tall with a shaven head. He was reportedly wearing sunglasses, an Adidas zip-up hoodie, a white t-shirt, and blue denim jeans with white trainers.

Police are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the man in the images as they believe they will have information that will help the investigation.
