THERE was a strong turnout of Swaledale sheep for the last show of the season in County Durham.
Upper Teesdale farmer Neville Bainbridge, who organises Langdon Beck show, said there had been a good entry this year, in both the sheep and produce sections.
The overall winner was Robert Hutchinson, from Bowes, who has taken the title for the last three shows in a row.
Mr Bainbridge said: "It was a very good day and the weather was kind to us.
"We had a strong entry of Swaledale sheep and that's what the show is all about.
"The produce was very strong as well – it was probably the best produce we've ever had at the show.
"It was a real quality entry.
"I don't think we could have expected anything better."
The event was making a return after being cancelled in 2020.
Despite difficulties posed by the pandemic, Mr Bainbridge added the quality was as "good as ever".
He added: "Prices have been good this year. Cattle and sheep prices have been good and the summer has been kind.
"But food prices have been going up as well and that takes the profit away."
