FOUR vehicles were seized and three drivers reported for summons for no insurance during a traffic operation targeting the illegal use of the roads in the North Ormesby area.

Over two days (yesterday and Wednesday), Middlesbrough neighbourhood team officers carried out the operation to take uninsured drivers off the roads and detect driving offences.

Vehicles were seized on Kings Road, Maltby Street and Jubilee Street in North Ormesby for having no insurance.

A Vauxhall Corsa was also found abandoned on Wilton Street and this was also seized.

Three drivers have been reported for summons for having no insurance.

The Northern Echo:

Sergeant John Sproson, from the neighbourhood team, said: “These operations are conducted in order to keep our roads safe and we will continue to take action. Uninsured vehicles will continue to be seized and those people who use our roads illegally and dangerously will be put before the courts wherever possible.”
