A MAN was taken to hospital following an alleged assault in Darlington.
Emergency services were called to Hargreave Terrace, off Parkgate, just after 1am on Saturday morning.
One man was found with injuries and was taken to hospital where his condition was described as "non life-threatening".
Yesterday the area around the scene of the alleged assault, near the Black Swan pub and North Eastern Terrace, remained cordoned off by officers.
A spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary said: “Police were called to reports of a suspected assault in Hargreave Terrace, Darlington, shortly after 1am on Saturday morning.
“A man was taken to hospital with what are described as non-life-threatening injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing."
Anyone with any information is asked to call Detective Constable Lee Foster, of Durham Constabulary, on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident reference 32 of September 18.
