THE A19 has now reopened after it was closed earlier today due to which had overturned in the road.

The A19 exit onto the A66 westbound near Teesside Park towards Stockton was closed due to the overturned lorry.

Emergency services including police attended the scene.

The North East Ambulance Service were called to the scene at 12.43pm this afternoon.

A spokesperson said: "We dispatched a rapid response paramedic, who treated one person on scene but they did not require hospital treatment."

The Northern Echo:

A motorist who was passing said that she thought the lorry was carrying cardboard and plastics.

She said: "It looked like one of the things that you throw rubbish in from the tip."
